The Challenge

Made in Nature, a health food brand, needed help growing its business in a more profitable way. Historically, the majority of the brand’s sales came from in-store purchases. However, these retailers did not share extensive customer data and private label offerings cannibalized the brand’s sales. The brand decided to further invest in an ecommerce approach to recapture lost revenue, control the customer experience, and gain valuable customer insights.

But the brand was starting from scratch – new ecommerce and email platforms were not fully set up. Additionally, the brand was working with 7 different agency partners, each responsible for a specific marketing channel or task.

The Solution

Labyrinth Digital established a cross-channel strategy to organize the efforts of all the agency partners and to coordinate the measurement and progress of marketing initiatives.

Labyrinth started by learning more about the business’ challenges and auditing its current marketing efforts. We worked with the brand’s web development agency to set up the infrastructure necessary for the brand to gain valuable insights into customer activity and its digital marketing efforts.

To better coordinate these efforts and keep the business informed, Labyrinth created a multi-channel reporting dashboard with results from all agencies & internal team members. Labyrinth delivered quarterly business reviews for executive stakeholders to show progress and provide thought leadership on future marketing strategies.

Labyrinth also developed robust digital marketing playbooks to guide marketing efforts by internal teams and agency partners. The playbooks included details about the role of each channel, customer segmentation strategies, budget plans, technology recommendations, and messaging ideas. Labyrinth acted as an extension of the brand’s internal marketing team by ensuring that all agency efforts aligned to the brand’s goals and followed the playbooks. Labyrinth helped develop monthly sprints for each vendor and participated in weekly calls to assign responsibilities, coordinate efforts, help troubleshoot issues and share progress & reporting.

The Results

Labyrinth helped the brand establish a comprehensive and multi-channel ecommerce marketing strategy. Ultimately, the brand was able to achieve a return on ad spend of $6.35 and improve its ecommerce conversion rate.
